ok im not sure about multiplayer ive never used it ivee only used zombies I would assume that you both select private match/ combat training and it would work like a normal game would

To start a match make the host's Ip 127.0.0.1 and select start hostmode. For everyone else type in the host's IPv4 Address and also select start hostmode. Both people need to select the same multiplayer/singleplayer and it should work! You can get the IPv4 Address by opening the command prompt...

You need internet and you need the person's Ip that your playing with. So ya its pretty much LAN for a local group of friends
