It's working with 2 computers on the same LAN for Zombie I used a VM for my test (I suspect it would work with Radmin VPN with a bit of fiddling also but didn't try it yet).

Used with the latest FitGirl Repack (I won't post any link as I'm not sure it's allowed here). Still have to try the mods. But I'm pretty sure it will work also

What I've done to make it work (took me 5 hours to make it work, yeah I really wanted to play zombie with my friends again and I had to test it first that's why I used a VM) :

  1. I've installed the latest Offline LAN launcher from Die_Rache found here on my computer.

  2. Then opened the bgt5launcher.exe as administrator and added the host IP of my computer (the server). Then "Started Hostmode" and the "Dedicated Server" and started BO1 by using "Single Player" (this button is not very user friendly though :innocent: ).

  3. I copy-pasted the game files from the host to the client (the VM) with all the custom maps so I didn't have to install it again using the Repack. I figured out I had to change the GameID by removing the bgData\Profiles that was present to avoid ID conflict (maybe it's not important).

  4. On the client computer, I've then started the Bgamer Launcher and "Started Hostmode" also and clicked "SinglePlayer" to go into the BO1 Menu.

  5. After that I saw my two names on the Friend List and I could create the Private Zombie Match on my host and then invite the client.
    -> At first I had a message saying : "Connecting to game lobby" and a circle loading forever then I checked the host IP on the dedicated server was not the primary IP of my dedicated server so I've deleted all my other network cards. And rebooted my computer then my primary IPv4 showed up.

  6. Boom it was working :

  7. Sidenote : to start custom zombie maps, you need to start the launcher, do the steps above and then start BO_Mods and voila.
I might reinstall it one more time to make a longer tutorial (for later uses for me too). But it's late now. Hope it will help some people play (at least for the zombie, I don't really care about the MP).

Hello Good Sir. I followed your instructions and zombies mode work just fine.
Now I am struggling to run MP mode. When I click Mulitplayer from the launcher it gives me "Can't start .exe the system cannot find the file specified"
Please help

Honestly I won't be much help as I didn't care about the MP of BO1...

So in other words, good luck !

Hi ! Is it still working?
I tried everything I could (Host mode, opening ports, Hamachi, RadminVPN) but I can't find a way to play coop on zombie mode with my friend online.
I'm a little desperate :cry:

i can not run MP, when i click multiplayer it says "cannot start .exe the system cannot find the file specified"

Ay chance for a edited Launcher or command arguments be added so that Start Hostmode can be activated immediately when you open bgT5Launcher.exe?

i have a copy of bo1 but not from steam i was trying to start a private or wager match but that didnt happened , is there any method to do it? or is there a way to start a combat training with no bots ,all i want is to run the game multiplayer on local lan with no bots , thank you for your time.

Hello everyone can someone help me with my call of duty Black ops 1 pc bcs it used to show console server when i start dedicated server and i played many lan match mp with friends but now when i tried to make it work with french version even when i put back to english the gamelauncher doesn't show and start the server console as it does can you give me some help or advices thanks to all @Die_Rache

I have been trying to setup a dedicated server for a bit now, but no matter what when I click on dedicated server in the launcher I get this error
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The system cannot find the file specified

I can't seem to find the server.cfg anywhere either.

I've tried this, still nothing. I got the game from DODI repacks. I got my friend to try running the dedicated server too, same error. I don't understand why the server.cfg isn't in the mod folder either. Does it work for you?

Hey peoples

I got this error "unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit. The application will close immediately. Only the usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted"

Is it safe to just press continue? How do I fix this error. I mostly use Bgamer to not get hacked (cause of the steam versions weak security) so I want to make sure Bgamer is working properly. Thanks!

I have the same problem, with an up-to-date version of .NET, running the executable as administrator and a fresh install of the game (I use FitGirl repack).

EDIT : I follow the instructions of "Dosi" on the second page of this thread (see the quote below) and it worked. Did not try to play Multiplayer or Zombie with friend yet.

ok, you need

Step 1:
1. copy from Call of Duty Black Ops Original Steam or FitGirl
2. BGamerT5LANClientv0.1.1.zip
3. bgBO_v0.7.rar

Step 2:
- install: Call of Duty Black Ops
- extract: BGamerT5LANClientv0.1.1.zip (all files from the Client Files folder) in your "Black Ops" folder with overwrite
- rename: BGamerT5.exe to BlackOps.exe
- rename: BGamerT5MP.exe to BlackOpsMP.exe
- extract: bgBO_v0.7.rar in your "Black Ops" folder with overwrite
- look at EXTRA: and save this Server CFG to main\server.cfg

Step 3: YOUR FIRST START ON A NEW COMPUTER

- Start bgT5Launcher.exe
- change your Nickname
- type your correct Host IP (not 127.0.0.1)
- look that you have a Game ID with 10 numbers
- click Start Hostmode
- start the Deticated Server
- type in the Console: map mp_zoo
- click Multiplayer
- go to Play and Server Browser
- connect to your Server (the game write all what your profil need to your computer)
- disconnect and your game is ready for all what you want :wink:
- you can close all

Step 4: Normal Start

- Start bgT5Launcher.exe
- change your Nickname
- type your correct Host IP (not 127.0.0.1)
- look that you have a Game ID with 10 numbers
- click Multiplayer
- try Private Match

INFO: !!! WHEN YOU EDIT YOUR Game ID REPEAT STEP 3!!!

The other Computer in your Network need a other ID and Nickname + maybe your IP

I have the same problem, with an up-to-date version of .NET, running the executable as administrator and a fresh install of the game (I use FitGirl repack).

EDIT : I follow the instructions of "Dosi" on the second page of this thread (see the quote below) and it worked. Did not try to play Multiplayer or Zombie with friend yet.
I managed to get the dedicated server up and running, however I couldn't get my friend to join. He joins through my ip then port 3074 which I portforwarded. However I can only see him on my friends list and not invite.

Is there some specific command I need to type in the bo1 console to set the port and local ip of the host machine or?
